Musical theatre combining dance, drama, and vocal training in one class, working toward a genuine showcase production each term rather than isolated skill practice with no performance outlet. For students who enjoy multiple performing arts disciplines but don't want to commit to separate dance, drama, and singing classes individually, this consolidates all three into one track that develops stage presence, teamwork, and creativity together. Ages 8 to 16; sessions run Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons, with a free trial available.
This session runs 60 minutes, for ages 8–16. Classes follow a structured format: warm-up and stretching, technique work (barre exercises for ballet, isolations for hip-hop), choreography or creative work, and cool-down. Most academies hold an annual performance or recital — a genuine highlight for students and families. Dress codes vary by style: ballet typically requires leotard and soft shoes, while hip-hop and contemporary are more relaxed. British Dance Academy offers a free trial session before you commit.
Parent tip
Dance develops confidence through performance. If your child is hesitant, give them at least a full term before deciding — the end-of-term showcase is often the moment they discover they love it.
