Group music-making combining ensemble instrumental playing and choral singing, developing sight-reading, active listening, and teamwork skills that individual lessons alone can't teach. It's open specifically to students already learning an instrument or voice at CMA, making it a genuine extension of existing lessons rather than a standalone beginner class. Ages 7 to 16; Saturday morning sessions, with a free trial available.
This session runs 60 minutes, for ages 7–16. Private lessons focus on individual technique and are ideal for beginners building foundational skills. Group lessons develop ensemble awareness and cost roughly half the price. Many academies follow ABRSM or Trinity curricula, providing internationally recognised grade examinations that mark structured progress from Grade 1 to Grade 8. Centre for Musical Arts (CMA) offers a free trial session before you commit.
Parent tip
Consistency matters more than intensity in music learning. A child who practises 15 minutes daily progresses faster than one who crams an hour the night before a lesson. Ask the teacher for a realistic home practice recommendation for your child's level.
