An introduction to what's genuinely the fastest team sport played on ice — skating with a stick, puck handling, passing, and basic team play, endorsed by the UAE Ice Hockey Federation. Full protective gear is provided for beginners, which matters given the sport's collision element even at a recreational introductory level and the cost of hockey equipment otherwise. Ages 5 and up; early weekend morning sessions at Al Nasr Leisureland, with a free trial available.
This session runs 75 minutes, for ages 5+. Expect a warm-up phase, skill-based drills, and a game or activity at the end. Indoor facilities with air conditioning are standard across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, ensuring year-round training regardless of summer temperatures. Most academies follow internationally recognised coaching frameworks and provide all equipment — you just need to bring water, comfortable clothing, and appropriate footwear. Ice Skating Evolution offers a free trial session before you commit.
Parent tip
Ask about the coach-to-student ratio before enrolling. For children under 8, groups larger than 8–10 per coach typically mean less individual feedback. A good academy will be transparent about this.
