A structured British Horse Society beginner programme covering walk, trot, balance, and basic steering on school horses and ponies matched to a rider's size and confidence level. Groups stay capped at 4 riders with full safety equipment provided, and students progress through the BHS's own progressive riding tests — a formal, internationally recognised framework rather than an informal in-house grading system. Ages 6 to 16; sessions run three times a week, with a free trial available.
This session runs 50 minutes, for ages 6–16. Expect a warm-up phase, skill-based drills, and a game or activity at the end. Indoor facilities with air conditioning are standard across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, ensuring year-round training regardless of summer temperatures. Most academies follow internationally recognised coaching frameworks and provide all equipment — you just need to bring water, comfortable clothing, and appropriate footwear. Sustainable City Equestrian Club offers a free trial session before you commit.
Parent tip
Ask about the coach-to-student ratio before enrolling. For children under 8, groups larger than 8–10 per coach typically mean less individual feedback. A good academy will be transparent about this.
