Storytelling, character work, and short scene performance for children aged 7–8 at The Courtyard Playhouse, Dubai's only KHDA-licensed improvisation theatre, founded in 2013 in the Al Quoz arts district. Builds improvisation skills, vocal projection, and stage presence in a fun, low-pressure group environment as part of the venue's Young Theatre Academy. Weekend sessions on Saturday and Sunday give children a genuine taste of ensemble performance.
This session runs 60 minutes, for ages 7–8. Classes cover a range of media: drawing, painting, clay, mixed media, and increasingly digital art. Toddler classes (ages 2–5) focus on sensory exploration — the process matters more than the finished product. Older children work with structured techniques while developing their personal creative style. Many studios hold regular exhibitions of student work, which builds pride and motivation. The Courtyard Playhouse offers a free trial session before you commit.
Parent tip
Resist the urge to judge your child's art by how realistic it looks. In quality art education, experimentation and creative risk-taking are more valuable than technical precision at young ages. Ask them about their work rather than telling them what it looks like.
