Wheel throwing, hand-building technique, and glazing for teenagers aged 11–17 at The Pottery Studio Dubai in Jumeirah 1. Students create both functional and sculptural pieces across the term, working with a deeply meditative and expressive art form rather than a quick craft project. Fired works are collected at the end of term, and Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday sessions include all materials and kiln firing.
This session runs 90 minutes, for ages 11–17. Classes cover a range of media: drawing, painting, clay, mixed media, and increasingly digital art. Toddler classes (ages 2–5) focus on sensory exploration — the process matters more than the finished product. Older children work with structured techniques while developing their personal creative style. Many studios hold regular exhibitions of student work, which builds pride and motivation. The Pottery Studio Dubai offers a free trial session before you commit.
Parent tip
Resist the urge to judge your child's art by how realistic it looks. In quality art education, experimentation and creative risk-taking are more valuable than technical precision at young ages. Ask them about their work rather than telling them what it looks like.
