Weekly mixed-media art sessions for children aged 5–12 at thejamjar, Dubai's original community arts space, founded in 2005 in Alserkal Avenue. Covers painting, drawing, woodworking, and upcycling projects that build real creative skills, with all materials provided in a genuine working artists' space rather than a classroom. Monday and Wednesday sessions run 90 minutes, with a free trial class for families wanting to see the working studio before enrolling.
This session runs 90 minutes, for ages 5–12. Classes cover a range of media: drawing, painting, clay, mixed media, and increasingly digital art. Toddler classes (ages 2–5) focus on sensory exploration — the process matters more than the finished product. Older children work with structured techniques while developing their personal creative style. Many studios hold regular exhibitions of student work, which builds pride and motivation. thejamjar offers a free trial session before you commit.
Parent tip
Resist the urge to judge your child's art by how realistic it looks. In quality art education, experimentation and creative risk-taking are more valuable than technical precision at young ages. Ask them about their work rather than telling them what it looks like.
