Holiday camp for children aged 5–12 at thejamjar, Dubai's original community arts space, founded in 2005 in Alserkal Avenue. Packed with painting, sculpture, theatre games, and upcycled art projects in small groups led by professional artist-educators, ending in a genuine gallery-style showcase at week's end. Monday through Wednesday sessions run 180 minutes each during school holidays, giving children enough time to complete genuinely finished pieces rather than rushed crafts.
This session runs 180 minutes, for ages 5–12. Classes cover a range of media: drawing, painting, clay, mixed media, and increasingly digital art. Toddler classes (ages 2–5) focus on sensory exploration — the process matters more than the finished product. Older children work with structured techniques while developing their personal creative style. Many studios hold regular exhibitions of student work, which builds pride and motivation. Contact thejamjar directly to ask about trial availability.
Parent tip
Resist the urge to judge your child's art by how realistic it looks. In quality art education, experimentation and creative risk-taking are more valuable than technical precision at young ages. Ask them about their work rather than telling them what it looks like.
