Competitive and recreational Taekwondo for ages 11–17 at Gulf Taekwondo Academy Sharjah in Al Nahda, affiliated with the UAE Taekwondo Federation and offering Olympic-standard coaching. Covers poomsae patterns, sparring, and tournament preparation, with a direct pathway into UAE and GCC competitions for students who want to compete. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday sessions run up to 70 minutes, with coaches assessing readiness for the next belt grading at every class.
This session runs 70 minutes, for ages 11–17. Classes follow a structured format: a formal bow-in, warm-up and conditioning, technique drills, and practice with partners. Children are never paired with adults. The belt or grading system provides clear milestones — most academies hold gradings every 3–4 months. Uniforms (gi or dobok) are usually required and can be purchased through the academy. Gulf Taekwondo Academy Sharjah offers a free trial session before you commit.
Parent tip
Quality martial arts instruction emphasises restraint and respect, not aggression. If a class feels intimidating or overly competitive for beginners, it's the wrong academy. The best instructors create an environment where children genuinely want to return.

The sensei is brilliant with kids — strict but fair. My son has so much discipline now.
